HOLIDAY MURDERGAME WHERE ARE THEY NOW MEME



It's the hap-happiest season of all, and what better way to celebrate than by remembering that one (or more) horribly traumatic experience that permanently changed the face of not only your relationships but possibly your outlook on life itself?

Any character (including NPCs!) who's ever been in any murdergame is invited! Feel free to share with your friends!

Regardless of how you choose to use this meme, there's two blanket rules:
1) Make sure the header of your comment has your character's name, home canon, and murdergame listed. If you used the same account for several murdergames, you can use the same toplevel for all of them.
2) No blank comments! First and foremost this is a chance to catch up with old murdergame buddies, and maybe make new ones if you choose! Thus, your comment should go into whatever degree of detail you like describing what life has been like since the murdergame ended. Did life go back to normal? Did they get married? Have a kid? Move to another universe entirely and start over with their found family? Have they kept in touch? Go into as much detail as you want, just put something!

You can use this meme to set up any kind of "canon" or canon-compliant holiday threads with your castmates, big holiday party or no.

OR... you can pretend that there's an interdimensional all-murdergame nondescript winter holiday party that you've been invited to attend! Maybe the Curtains narrators made sure the Denny's was conveniently empty (don't mind the weird old guy in the woods out back), or maybe there was some other convenient arrangement. Either way, you received an invite, and you're here now! So spike the eggnog and check for mistletoe, because the night is probably going to get wild.

I don't even think they could tell if the haunting was working or not when they did it. I dunno, that's just what I heard from them, and that was forever, forever ago.

The first time around, I think the dead people saw everything they were doing. I didn't see any of it, but everyone else did.

This last time, we couldn't see the living at all. The only haunting we really managed was actually via ~robot~.

Wait, robot? Like you guys possessed a robot or something? That sounds super cool, why didn't our friends get to do that? It wasn't even like we didn't have robots around. We had tons of those.

Not exactly. I wasn't around for any of this, but the people in the previous round, they ended up...possessed by robots controlled by the showrunner. Then, one of them was in the third round with me, plus a different version of the robot, so when he tried to reach out to the previous robot on their robot network, he sort of activated Angus too.

[Maybe he's not best given to handing out explanations of technological nonsense!]

We didn't know that at the time. Scared everyone, though.

That... sounds really, really complicated and I only sort of get it. Being possessed by a robot sounds creepy, though. Like, possessing a robot, that makes sense, 'cause it's a thing you can upload stuff into, right? Though I guess if the AI in the robot is alive and haunting you, then it's the same thing. Okay, now I follow. I think.

Yeah, uh, the one who ran the last game is still around. Not sure if he's here todaaaaay - [he peers around for a second] - but now he's a rock person that looks like Keanu Reeves.

I really wasn't involved in that one, I have no idea what happened.

Too bad, too bad. Maybe someone'll know! I mean, there's, like, a million people here, right? It's like a whole prefecture's worth of party! Or at least a quarter of a city. Which is different, but still a lot.

Murdergames are popular. That's what actually started our whole run off - the audience appeal.

[mopocalypse]

Wait, like literal audience? They were filming more of those or something? I mean, some of the guys we have to stop are like that...

Not exactly. Don't worry about it. I have heard about the TV show one, though!

[mopocalypse]

Hmm... hmm. If I don't have to worry about it, do you think that means I won't have to fill out paperwork about it?

So far, I pretty much just have, "Everyone got invited to a weird holiday party, there were a couple hundred people who were all in 《school of dead》 and stuff, which is kind of concerning since we didn't actually know about all those, but we've kind of been spending the past however long trying to fix that kind of stuff? Not just that, also some monuments and assassinations. But, but! They had a bunch of free food that was actually good, and so far it's not a death trap." I dunno what all else there is.

What assassinations?

Uh, an evil little kid was gonna send people after our families and stuff if we didn't join her cult, but that was, like, forever ago. And now I work for a place that tries to stop that cult from doing stuff 'cause they ruined the world? I'm probably leaving out a lot of stuff, but I'm really, really bad at explanations and they should really just let me fix things instead of fill out forms.

Didn't know any of these things got so bureaucratic. We just sort of...hang out. I mean, me and my, uh...

Me and someone else tried to stop this most recent game before it started, but it went pretty badly. That's why I was in it at all.

...Sorry. [She scuffs her foot on the floor.] But you guys got out and stuff, right? I mean, it doesn't help, like... get rid of what happened or anything.

Yeah, we did. We're all fine now, more or less. You know how it is, I guess.

[They're not all just TOTALLY GOOD NOW, but it's mostly fine. Lots of things are better, even!]

...kind of, yeah. --But, but! It's kind of unbelievable that everyone here got out of one of those, right? Like, got out, got out!

It really is! Pretty unlikely. Which makes it more likely when you think about it.

This is one of those super-complicated and depressing things, isn't it...

I don't know about depressing. Worked out for all of us, right?

I guess so, but whenever you actually tell the story, then people get all sad? I mean, in my experience whenever I tell any story it always takes forever and people get lost and complain and are like, are you sure you need to spend all that time talking about all your escape plans that never worked, which, of course I do! Everyone needs to hear about the time I watched The Bearshank Redemption in the media room and came up with a plan to dig our way out of the hotel walls with spoons and cover up the property damage with pictures of naked ladies! That's the kind of levity that makes the grueling misery of murder land worth it! 《Shock!》 I mean, I don't actually know for sure what levity means, I keep meaning to look it up but then I get distracted and go do other stuff.
